Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the Reach app for iPhone ("Reach" or "the app"). By installing or using Reach you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
License
Reach is licensed to you, not sold. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of the app, and these terms add to it. You may use Reach on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store's usage rules.
Your content
Everything you enter into Reach, including reaches, notes, and photos, is yours. It stays on your device, and we never receive it, except for the two AI features described below, which you choose to use and which send only the words for the one reach you are working on. You are responsible for backing it up; see the privacy policy for how backups work.
Having Reach write for you
Reach Further includes two optional features that use an AI model to write from your own words:
- Writing your script. Tapping "Write it for me" sends that reach's title, details, why, and month to our server, which passes them to OpenAI's API to write a first draft and sends the paragraph back.
- Talking a reach through. Tapping "Talk it through" opens a conversation that asks about what you want. What you type in that conversation is sent to our server and on to OpenAI's API so it can ask the next question and, at the end, suggest your title, details, why, and month.
Using either feature is how you agree to it. Nothing is sent until you tap the button that starts it, and neither feature sends your photos, your other reaches, or anything else. We do not store what you send and we do not keep logs of it. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
What comes back is a suggestion, not advice. It is generated by a model, it can be wrong or clumsy, and it is yours to edit or discard before you save it. You are responsible for what you keep. Do not send anything through these features that you would not want processed by a third-party API.
Reach Further subscription
- Reach is free to use with up to three active reaches. Reach Further is an optional monthly subscription that unlocks unlimited reaches and additional features as they are released.
- Reach Further is purchased through the App Store. The price is shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm, and payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation.
- The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple Account, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms. Use the Restore Purchases button in the app if your subscription does not appear after reinstalling or changing devices.
- If you cancel, reaches beyond the free limit are not deleted. You keep them, and you can archive reaches to free up space under the free limit.
What Reach is and is not
Reach is a tool for describing what you want, visualizing it, and keeping track of your own progress. It does not promise any outcome. It is not medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for professional help. What you choose to reach for, and what you do about it, is up to you.
Acceptable use
Do not reverse engineer, copy, or resell the app, interfere with its operation, or use it in a way that breaks the law or Apple's App Store terms.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Reach is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Reach Further in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. The effective date at the top will change when we do, and continued use of the app after that date means you accept the updated terms.
